In this episode, I sat down with Chuck Batchelor, who’s the Head Coach for Bluefish Swim Club, in Attleboro, MA. Chuck is probably best known for having been Elizabeth Beisel’s club coach, including when she first made the US Olympic Team as a 16-yr old in 2008. But Chuck and Bluefish have had a long list of swimmers perform at the National and International level, and thanks to that he’s also been a frequent presence on the staff for many USA-Swimming Teams – in fact, just a couple weeks ago Chuck was announced as the Head Coach for the 2020 Jr Pan Pacs Team!

Now, beyond being a great, accomplished coach, Chuck is also an all-around great guy, and I really hope this interview does some justice in highlighting that. There’s no words to describe how much of a great time I had while visiting him back in October 2019, though you’ll see I tried to do so in the beginning of the interview.

Chuck is also a great storyteller (and I guess it helps when you have a few great stories to tell), so this interview runs long, even for this podcast’s standards, but it was worth every minute of it – in fact, I wish I had the mic on the entire time I was there! As always, it’s available on iTunes, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and directly with the player below.

Here are a few links to things we discussed in this episode:

And again, many thanks to my buddy Madu for the great soundtrack I choose for the podcast – check out his Instagram (@machete_bomb_madu) for a ton of great music! And also thanks to Zapslat for the sound effects.

Important note: please listen to the podcast “outro”, as I do have a request for those who have enjoyed this podcast so far, if you want to keep it going – I’m out of interviews, and since we’re about to go on full lock down to stop the spread of COVID-19, I’ll have to try and do a couple of these via long-distance, which I hope the audience can help me with.
