In this episode, I sat down with Tony Carroll, who’s a Senior and Developmental Coach for Lakeside Swim Club, a perennial USA-Swimming Gold Medal Club located in Louisville, KY, which I visited for a couple days back in October 2019.
Tony has been named to the US National Junior Team Coaches twice, and has served in multiple Zone Select Camps. Prior to his stint in Louisville, Tony worked as an Age Group Coach in a couple other LSCs, and also did some work for SwimSwam.
Tony is still somewhat new into the profession of coaching, but don’t let the shortage of years on deck fool you. As you can tell by his resume, he’s already been involved in some of the highest levels of swimming, and as you’re about to hear he’s got a nearly unmatched passion for the sport and for helping kids through their path.
This interview even got emotional at times, and I’m really glad Tony was open enough to share without many filters. I really think interviews like this are important, and so I’m really happy to put this one out there. As always, it’s available on iTunes, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and directly with the player below.
